Things I Forget!

I awoke this morning to a perfect temperature room (which rarely happens) and the dawn braking through the windows. While I arose and got ready for the sabbath I was grateful for my bed. Too often I forget to be grateful for something as simple as that. It keeps me warm, safe and comfortable as I sleep. Yup, today it's nothing more or less then that, I am grateful for my comfy cozy bed :)
What are you grateful for today?

The Rain!

As I lay down to sleep last night I could hear the soft pitter patter of the rain, it gently lulled me to sleep. When morning came I woke to the splash of cars driving through puddles. I lay in bed a moment more than usually and simply listened to the cars wiz through the water left on the ground. Then I knelt to pray and I thanked God for the rain! I love the rain! It reminds me of the story of Noah and God’s promise to never again flood the earth. It reminds me of dry summers in Utah and prayers send heaven ward and the Lord answering. Every time I hear rain I’m reminded of the song “holes in the floor of heaven” which makes me grateful that God watches out for us from heaven.
Yes today I am grateful for rain, it reminds me that Gods promises are real, He answers prayers and He watches over us.
What are you grateful for today?

As Thanksgiving Comes

Thanksgiving is coming up fast… and then it’s Christmas! It’s time that everyone is running around; finding presents, making plans, cleaning for family and has way more to do then they humanly can in one day! As we go around at lightning speed this holiday session let’s remember the meaning behind them. We’ll start with Thanksgiving!
Thanksgiving was a celebration between the English men and the Indians to give thanks for a good harvest. For that day they were able to find peace. J
There’s so much that God has given us to be grateful for. Last night as I finished the dishes I remembered a poem my mother had on a plaque in our kitchen:
I’m thankful for dirty dishes,
They have a tale to tale,
While others may go hungry,
I’m eating very well,
I’ve got food and friends and family,
So I won’t make a fuse,
Yes, this stack of dirty dishes shows God’s been good to us.
At the start of this holiday session I am grateful for dirty dishes. They remind me that I have a great life full of food, friends and family J
What would you like to thank God for today?

Trying His Word

I took the advice of a prophet this morning. As I read the last chapter of the scriptures, he asks us to pray and to ask God if this book is true. I did........ and I know! Then as I opened up my grandma's scriptures I found the same verse marked, I know that she knew!
Now it's your turn, whether it be the first time or the hundredth time. Get a copy of The Book Of Mormon today, open it, read it and ask God if it's true. I know He will answer you! But don't just take my word for it ;)

Feeling His Love

Do you ever feel like you’ve meet too many mistakes? I think we all have that feeling at one time. As I read the scriptures this morning I came to the point where the Savior explained that some mistakes would blot us out, but then the very next verse explained that if we repent we will be forgiven! No matter how many times this happens this promise is still true! This comforted me knowing that I am never too far gone. When I opened my grandma’s scriptures the same reassuring verse was highlighted, this assured me that I’m not the only one who has felt that way and found peace in the Saviors promise to forgive.
Have you made mistakes? Do you feel as though you need forgiveness? SO DO I!!! we all do! Take the Saviors promise repent and do your best! Try again… and again… and again! He loves you! Feel that love today!

Give It To Him!

Let’s play with our imaginations for a moment! Imagine yourself in a dark totally sealed boat with no way to steer for nearly a whole year…. You have this imagination in your mind? As I read this morning this is what I read of. As I read this one simple line I underlined it “Commending themselves unto the Lord” that’s what the people in this scripture did! They claimed aboard a barge putting themselves in the Lords hand… What faith! I was amazed by this story! And of course turned to my grandmothers scriptures to read it again this time I thought of us! Here we are, look around.. This requires no imagination. Are we not all stuck here in a lost and fallen world not entirely sure how long we are to me here and all that we must do? WE ARE! Thankfully we too can place ourselves in the Lords hands. We can do this by trusting Him, reading of Him and His Son and then following them. We take it one step at a time each time recommitting to follow whether we can see what is in front or wither we are tossed about in the sea! I promise that it is worth it! We are in the midst of all of this! Don’t give up!
Recommit yourself today! Commend yourself to the Lord, Tell Him that you need His help, Plead for His help and then Follow it! For me Following His help means that today I went out of my comfort zone to teach in a way that I wasn’t used to. For you maybe it’s picking up the scriptures again or spending time with your family. Ask the Lord and then whatever it may be, DO IT!!! Show your faith, and miracles will come ;)
